As every year, the Carnival period sees the Viareggio Cup, the most important international competition at youth level for Primavera teams. A tournament now in its 71st edition and which has seen, over the years, several talents establish themselves as protagonists later with the first teams.
The competition will start on11 MarchIt will end on the 27th with the final, and will see the participation of 40 teams divided into two groups (A and B) of five rounds each (each consisting of four teams). Qualifying for the round of 16 will be the first and the six best second-placed teams.
The holders of the Viareggio Cup are the young people of theInter who last year won in extra time 2-1 against the Fiorentina.
Of particular interest will be the women's tournament. Eight teams will face each other: Juventus, Florentia, Sassuolo, Bologna, Fiorentina, Inter, Genoa and Spezia.
