It will start on 11 May in Bologna the Giro d'Italia 2019. The 102nd edition, sponsored as always by The Sports GazetteIt includes a total of 21 stages and will end on Sunday 2 June with the crowning of the winner at the Arena in Verona.

3,518.5 km including 46,500 metres of altitude difference, with six time trial stages (totalling 58.5 km), six sprinters' stages, seven medium difficulty and five high mountain stages, with a total of seven uphill finishes. These are the numbers of the Giro d'Italia 2019.

The route was also organised to pay tribute to some of our country's historical figures: Fausto Coppi, Leonardo da Vinci, Indro Montanelli, Padre Pio e Joachim Rossi.

As always, there will also be passages from some locations that have made the history of the race: the 'Cima Coppi"2,618 metres above sea level at the Gavia Pass, the "Pantani Mountain' at the Mortirolo Pass, and the 'Bartali stage"on the Bologna-Fucecchio Apennines.
